Repeat patterns are a particular obsession of mine — there’s something almost meditative about the process of designing a motif and then watching it tile seamlessly into something that could wrap around a bolt of fabric or cover an entire wall. I’ve been fascinated by them for as long as I can remember, and surface pattern design has become one of the most satisfying corners of my creative practice. Like everything I make, my patterns are rooted in the natural world. Botanicals, florals, insects, leaves, vines — the same subjects that fill my paintings find their way into my patterns, but reimagined for repeat. The result tends toward the decorative and the lush: Art Nouveau-influenced, nature-forward, and designed with intention.
